Tisha Campbell

Tisha Campbell, an internationally recognized actress, singer, and producer, will give the keynote address to Harris-Stowe State University (HSSU) graduates at the spring commencement ceremony on May 18.

Campbell who has appeared in more than 50 films and television programs is best known for her role as Regina "Gina" Waters-Payne in the Fox comedy series "Martin" from 1992 to 1997.

Campbell had her breakout role in Spike Lee's "School Daze" in 1988 and followed that with a series of other films including "House Party" (I, II, III), "Another 48 Hrs.," "Boomerang," and "Homeward Bound.". Her other work includes starring roles in "Everybody Hates Chris," "My Wife & Kids," and "Dr. Ken." She has worked alongside Martin Lawrence, Damon Wayans, Chris Rock, and others. She is currently the co-starring Fox's sitcom, "Outmatched," with Jason Biggs and Maggie Lawson that will air in the fall of 2019.

Last year Campbell co-hosted and co-produced the "Soul Train Awards with longtime friend Tichina Arnold and was also a leading actress in ABC's "The Finest," produced and directed by Regina King and co-produced by Robin Roberts of “Good Morning America.”.

Campbell is the recipient of an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series, and a BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
