Legendary singer Eddie LeVert Joins Lewis Reed at ‘Men as Mentors Rally

Tomorrow (Wednesday June 27th), Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame legend Eddie Levert Sr. of the world renowned singing trio the O’Jays will be in St. Louis joining President of the Board of Alderman Lewis E. Reed to support the “Men as Mentors” initiative.

The rally will begin at 4:00pm at the BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF GREATER ST. LOUIS, 2901 NORTH GRAND AVENUE, ST. LOUIS, MO 63107 PHONE: 314-335-8000 (Formally Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club)

Eddie Levert and President Reed will be speaking on behalf of African American males to representatives of major organizations, parents, public officials and community groups to initiate a call to save the lives of African American youth. Joining them will be Super Bowl Champion and Author Roland Williams, President of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater St.Louis Flint Fowler, entertainer & activist Yung Ro, James Clark of Better Family life and others.

President Reed’s “Men as Mentors” initiative is designed to help recruit, reward and retain men volunteers in St.Louis city. Understanding the challenges of funding and volunteer recruitment, Reed’s initiative will match men with organizations with potential partners being The Boy Scouts of America, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater St.Louis, Big Brothers / Big Sisters, 100Black Men, etc…

Levert authored the bestselling Book “I Got Your Back” with author Lyah Beth Leflore detailing the responsibilities of parenting and along with President Reed believes guiding our youth through the ins and outs of life is a priority.

The Book I”I got Your Back “will be available and Levert will be signing copies immediately afterward. Following the rally, Eddie Levert and President Reed will be attending Vintage Vinyl Records in University City to sign books, speak about the Men as Mentors and Introduce Levert’s solo project.
