In an interview with Barbara Walters on the View, pop icon Mariah Carey said she no longer feels safe on the set of “American Idol” because her fellow judge Nicki Minaj threatened to shoot her.”
Carey reported the threat to Barbara Walters in a conversation reported on ABC's "The View" Thursday morning, giving new details of Tuesday's blowup between Carey and Minaj.
Walters said Carey told her that the singer had hired extra security.
Minaj took to twitter to deny the claims – and mocking Carey’s accusations at the same time.
“Let’s just say Nicki said something about a gun, people will believe you because she is a black rapper” Minaj tweeted. “I’ll then hit up Barbara to milk it.”
In a lengthy thread, Minaj gave a play by play of the feud and voice her disdain for what she says is a false accusation and give her take on the bad blood that has gone public between the two pop stars.
“Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho,” Minaj tweeted. “Not even the producers believed you. Say no to violence Barbz. Ur a legend, cheer up. You don’t have to run down your resume or feel intimidated. Shady McGrady...”
