SIUE East St. Louis Performing Arts Program

Students from the Performing Arts Program and the East St. Louis Charter High School will present the Black History production, The Journey Continues . . . (The Past, The Present, The Future).

Music will include songs such as “My People,” by Angie Stone; “Get up Stand up,” by Bob Marley; selections from the screen play Amistad ;and the musical suite “Stand,” including students from the SIUE Black Theater Workshop Touring Company, co-directed by Kathryn Bentley, SIUE Theater and Dance associate professor.

Choreographers are Andrea Smythe, Jamila Ajanaku, Jack Williams and Theodore H. Jamison, with musical arrangements by Earl Wilkes.

The performance will take place Friday, Feb. 24 at 6:30pm in the Multipurpose Theater at  East St. Louis Higher Education Campus (Building D), 601 James R. Thompson Blvd., East St. Louis, IL  62201.  Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults and $5:00 for seniors and children
