The National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice re-established its Missouri chapter with its headquarters in St. Louis. Jeffrey Carson, detention superintendent at the St. Louis City Justice Center, is chapter president. The organization has established relationships with Lincoln University and  Harris-Stowe State University to assist students who major in criminal justice. The organization plans to create a rites of passage program for youth and develop a faith-based symposium. It has created a gangs task force and adopted a grade school. The organization will host a fundraiser and collect toys for area children for the holidays from 8 p.m. to  1:30 a.m. Friday, December 11 at The Omega Center, 3900 Goodfellow Blvd. The cost is $15. Attendees are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to the event. Food will be served and DJ Twyn will provide the music.
