St. Louis County reported 11 COVID-19 deaths and 50 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, May 19. The county has now reported 347 deaths and 4,374 cases since the onset of the pandemic.
Of the 347 deaths, 140 (40.3%) were black people. Of the 4,374 cases, 1,836 (42.0%) were black people. Blacks form only 24.9% of the county’s population.
With 347 deaths in 4,374 cases, 7.9% of those in the county who were reported as testing positive have died.
St. Louis County is not reporting the total number of tests administered, so it is not possible to report the percentage of those tested who tested positive.
St. Louis County began to gradually lift its stay-at-home public health order on May 18.
