MRS THELMA NEWSOM CAHILL

“Long Live the Queen”

Mrs. Thelma N. Cahill, got her wings on April 30, 2019, with her children at her side. Thelma Newsom was born on June 2, 1929, in Gilbert, Louisiana, to Carlie and Amanda Newsom, and was affectionately called “Lil Sister”. She charted a wonderful and amazing journey. Her life was her example, one of family, service, kindness and giving. A true storybook marriage, married on April 29, 1951, with her childhood sweetheart, the late Judge Clyde S. Cahill, Jr., and to the union, bore six loving children (Lalinda, Marina, V. Clyde, Randall, Kevin and Myron). From humble beginnings, in the backwoods of Mississippi, to the queen of a dynasty, she never lost sight of life and its real meaning—God, family, friends and community.
