Kids at the Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club in St. Louis learned more about how to brush better, floss more and the importance of oral hygiene at the Crest & Oral B Health Fair. The event was held in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month. Each child received a new tooth brush and other dental items. A 2000 U.S. Surgeon General report said tooth decay is the single most common chronic childhood disease – five times greater than asthma and seven times greater than hay fever. Tooth decay currently causes children to miss more than 51 million school hours.
The Club also has an onsite Crest Smile Shoppe Dental Clinic providing services to Club members three afternoons a week. Services provided include screenings, cleanings, preventative and restorative dental care. For more information about the dental clinic, call Renee Bell at 314-652-8300, ext. 145.
