Karen D. Taylor comes home for music ministry on Saturday

Affiliation with TBN, T.D. Jakes, Juanita Bynum and other worship moguls, coupled with nearly 40 years of experience, has given Dr. Karen D. Taylor an international platform for teaching the word of God.

But each month for almost two years, her ministry has returned to her hometown of St. Louis, where she worshipped at San Francisco Temple Complex Christian Assembly under the leadership Bishop Dwight H. McDaniels Jr.

Taylor faithfully comes home using personal resources to offer what she describes as “a week of empowerment” that is open to all denominations and individuals seeking knowledge and understanding of the Bible.

“The Holy Spirit instructed me to come home and teach,” Taylor said. “The Holy Spirit said, ‘My laborers are few because they are chained to the pews and I need you to free them.’”

For her visit this weekend, Taylor has staged a benefit dinner and concert.

In a special presentation, “Life Beyond Measure,” a division of Karen D. Taylor Ministries is offering an “Evening With Karen & Friends” on Saturday, Nov. 15.

The event will feature nationally renowned artists Paul Dozier (musician/songwriter) and Lady Michelle Nurse (liturgical dancer), along with Taylor herself n a gifted vocalist who sang at Juanita Bynum’s wedding and as leading soloist for Bishop T.D. Jakes/Potter’s House Choir’s Grammy Nominated CD The Storm Is Over.

While the benefit will be an excellent opportunity for fellowship and celebration of God through song and dance, the intent is to to ensure that Taylor can continue her monthly quest of bringing her native city to an understanding of the Word.

“Following God’s instruction, I come every month n paying my own way n to teach ‘Life Beyond Measure’ through the Word,” Taylor said. “I’ve seen some incredibly wonderful moves of God n his endorsement n because of my obedience.”

Taylor spends three days in North City and three days on the South Side for a purpose she describes as “releasing the p.o.p. (prisoners of the pews) from t.o.m. (traditions of men) and freeing them to labor in bringing the harvest of souls.”

Sometimes churches host Taylor, other times she digs deeper in her pocket to rent a space for the activities. “In my quest to be obedient, I let nothing stop me,” Taylor said.

The reward comes in the form of the lives she touches.

“I’ve had people come up to me with tears in their eyes and say, ‘Thank you for coming’ and ‘No one’s teaching like this,’” Taylor said.

Taylor’s journey in the ministry has led her to success as a recording artist, author (A Deeper Look At The Real You…The Triune Being in 2008 and The Dwelling Place of Elohim to be released in 2009), CEO/Founder of Karen D. Taylor International Ministries, The Prophetic Winds of Destiny Global Conference and of Heavenlyflow Publishing Company, and leader of Shabbas Fellowship in Desoto, Texas.

She has been on stages from Jamaica to Sweden and on television screens viewed by millions, but it is her monthly visits back home that have given her the ultimate experience with respect to the joy of serving the Lord.

“I’ve been on the major platform, and I gave all of that up to obey God,” Taylor said. “I no longer seek after it. I no longer sell my soul for it.”

“I understand the purpose, the mission of my ministry n

the ability to interpret the word of the Lord accurately for themselves and to bring them to a state of spiritual maturity.”
