This week, Alderman Kacie Starr Triplett (6th-Ward) will host a group of young delegates from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Arranged by the American Council of Young Political Leaders, the trip is intended to promote understanding and cultivate lasting political, economic and cultural relationships between young Vietnamese and American civic leaders.

In Saint Louis, Triplett will play host to the group as they meet with government officials, speak to local business leaders and explore the culture and history of the city. Last October, Triplett was part of a seven-member delegation from the United States that spent two weeks traveling throughout Vietnam.

“I’m excited to welcome these young leaders to Saint Louis,” Triplett said. “The American Council of Young Political Leaders is a great tool for diplomacy and quality international relations. My trip to Vietnam last year was an incredibly valuable experience. I know these delegates will get the same benefit from visiting our great country as I received from traveling throughout theirs.”

The Vietnamese delegation will be in Saint Louis from July 27 to August 1. They will be available to speak with the press and take questions on July 31st from 12pm – 1:00pm in Room 230 of City Hall.
