March 25, 1929 – December 30, 2007
Cora LaVerne Hood Johnson was born of March 25, 1929 to the late Benjamin and Sophia Hood in Little Rock, Arkansas as the first of seven children. The Lord called her home on December 30, 2007.
She attended Stephen’s Elementary School and Dunbar High School in Little Rock and graduated with the winter class of 1948. Shortly after graduation, she was blessed with a son, Terry Michael Talley. She then chose to relocate to St. Louis, Missouri, where she met and married the late Robert Johnson. To this union was born a daughter, Jinissa Taulese Johnson Nowden.
She was an active member of Murchison Tabernacle CME Church.
She leaves behind to mourn two brothers, Harrell W. Hood of Little Rock and David J. Hood of Dublin, California; two sisters, Camellia E. Hood Lewis of St. Louis and Sheila K. Hood Humphrey of Little Rock; one son, Terry M. Talley of St. Louis; one daughter, Jinissa T. Johnson Nowden of Florissant; one granddaughter, Auburn Talley and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Harris, both of St. Louis; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
