UMSL College of Education wins technology award
You need 20 apples. You already have seven. How many more do you need? Name the third grade teacher whose last name begins with ‘R.’ These questions and many others challenged Twillman students and families who attended the school’s Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) trivia night.
Staff members read 10 questions per round and kept score for each of the eight competing tables.
“We do MAP trivia night to help families become more familiar with MAP questions,” said assistant principal Sarah Briscoe. “And it brings the families in and kids become comfortable with the atmosphere here.
Counselor Tracy Turner agreed. “We also ask questions at all grade levels so all of the kids can take part in it,” she said. “We want to get them all involved in a fun way.”
Between question rounds, staff members read raffle ticket numbers and the person, student or adult, who matched the number called got to choose from a table full of prizes.
