The St. Louis Public Library has opened its 17th city location on 7,000 square feet of the main level of the Old Post Office building, 815 Olive Street, Suite 160.

Because of its close proximity to Central Library, Central Express is not intended to be a full-service branch. A self-service check-out machine will help more than 88,000 downtown workers quickly check out materials. Wireless internet access as well as two public-access computers are available on-site.

Central Express offers popular fiction and non-fiction books as well as DVDs, CDs and books on CD. Approximately 3,500 items will be on the shelves at any given time.

Those who work downtown qualify for an SLPL card if they live in the city, if they pay city earnings tax or because of the “Libraries Without Boundaries” reciprocal agreement with area libraries in Missouri.

Central Express hours are: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 539-0348.
