The 5’11” senior guard enjoyed a huge week in leading the Blue Devils to three victories in four games. He is one of the area’s most dynamic scoring guards.
King averaged 27 points in three games in leading Maplewood to a third-place finish in the Trinity Tournament last week. He had 25 points, six rebounds and four assists in the Blue Devils’ 79-63 victory over Hazelwood West in the first round.
In the semifinals, King had a career-high 36 points, five rebounds, three assists and four steals in the Blue Devils’ 71-56 loss to Duchesne. He came back to have 21 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the Blue Devils’ 65-45 victory over Lutheran (St. Charles) in the third-place game.
King closed out the week with 34 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead Maplewood past Caruthersville 74-62 in a game played at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo.
For the season, King is averaging 23.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 5.2 steals while shooting 43 percent from 3-point territory.
