If one more person calls me to tell me that they’re having a party at the new Jazz Loft I’m going to scream – and go. Since this jazzy new spot opened a couple of months ago everybody and their mama, daddy, sister and brother have been throwing parties there. I accept the invitations because I’m feeling the place just like everyone else. They’re giving all the clubs in St. Louis a run for their money, especially those nearby. And those club owners who have been arrogant in the past because of their success and popularity don’t have anything to fall back on. Patrons are probably glad they don’t have to deal with the other uppity club owners anymore. I hope the owners of the Loft learn from this, because pretty soon people are going to get tired of going just like they do everywhere else. Don’t get me wrong, they’ll still keep a steady crowd, but now it’s new, original and free. People will keep an allegiance as long as they stay down to earth. If they don’t, people will step with no regret, just ask you know who.
