Local NAACP officials are attempting to kill its “Buy St. Louis” agreement with the law firm of Brown and Crouppen. The NAACP stands for “National Association for Advancement of Colored People” – “not for white lawyers,” said one disappointed long-time NAACP supporter. It appears Crumpton signed a deal giving the firm “exclusivity in its branch representation.” Some long-time branch supporters believe that this is an affront to numerous African-American lawyers (some of whom are members). The National NAACP has taken notice.
