East St. Louis
Girls Basketball
The 6’2” junior forward is one of the most talented underclassmen in the state of Illinois and one of the most coveted recruits in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
With the graduation of twin sisters Victoria and Veronica, Teandrea has become the focal point of the Flyerettes offense. Through the first 10 games, Smith is averaging 23.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, 4.4 assists and three steals a game in leading East Side to a 7-3 victory.
Smith led the Flyerettes to two big Southwestern Conference victories last week. She had 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in East Side’s 57-45 victory over Edwardsville in a big conference showdown. Smith followed that up with 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and five blocks in a lopsided victory over Alton.
Smith also performs well against the top teams. In a early-season showdown with Missouri-state power Incarnate Word Academy, Smith had 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and five blocks in the Flyerettes’ 55-52 loss.
