June 3, 1915 – April 22, 2007
Alphia T. Walker was born on June 3, 1915 in Magee, MS to Daniel Thames and Eula Myers. Alphia was an educated woman earning a nursing degree and other training from colleges and hospitals in Jackson, MS, Memphis, TN and St. Louis.
Alphia was a committed and faithful woman as was evident by her marriage to Everett T. Walker of 64 years. As a disciple of Central Baptist Church, she was active in the Chancellor’s Choir, Sisters of Ruth and Deaconess Ministries.
On April 22, 2007, Alphia was called home to be with the Lord. She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband and the host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends she leaves to cherish her memory. The family asks that memorial contributions be made payable to Central Baptist Church, 2843 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63103, Re: Sisters of Ruth Scholarship Fund in Memory of Alphia Walker.
