Madison County prosecutors on Wednesday charged a man with one count of child endangerment in connection with the death of a two-year-old Venice girl.
Anthony Wise, 23, of Madison, Ill., was also charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and one count of obstruction of justice.
Timberlyn Terrell died Tuesday morning at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis.
Police said another child shot her in the head Monday morning inside her mother’s apartment. Investigators would not release the child’s age, but said the child was related to Timberlyn.
Wise brought the gun into the apartment and left it unattended, said police.
Wise is being held in the Madison County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
