What started as shots fired at St. Louis police officers late Thursday night ended with one woman dead and two others hurt.
It started when two men in a Mercedes SUV opened fire on police officers in the 3800 block of Blaine and sped off.
Less than two blocks away, the suspect vehicle hit a Ford Explorer on Park near Jefferson.
A 71-year-old woman in that vehicle was killed and one of her passengers was critically injured. Her name has not been released.
One of the two men accused of firing at police was arrested at the scene. The second suspect is still on the run.
