The killing of a woman whose nude body was found early Tuesday in an alley in the 4500 block of Maffitt Avenue has striking similarities to the murder of another woman 10 days earlier less than a mile away, authorities said.
The victim found about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday was identified through fingerprints as Beranda Hunt, 36, who lived in the 4600 block of Palm Street. She had been beaten in the head and her body was probably dumped in the alley, authorities said.
On the morning of May 27, the body of Sherion R. Evans, 49, was found in an alley in the 4400 block of Lee Avenue. She, too, was found nude and had been beaten, and also had suffered a puncture wound in the neck. She, too, had probably been killed elsewhere.
