The junior tailback enjoyed an extraoridnary week in leading the Red Devils to the quarterfinals of the Class 5 state playofs.
Last Monday night, Standard rushed for 300 yards on an incredible 51 carries to lead Chaminade past Hazelwood East 24-21 in the sectional playoffs at Mehlville.
Standard also scored three touchdowns, including the game-winner in the final minute to complete the Red Devils’ come-from-behind victory.
Just five days later, Standard turned in another sparkling performance in the Red Devils’ heartbreaking 34-28 loss to undefeated Webster Groves. Standard rushed for 210 yards on 30 carries and three more touchdowns.
Standard finished his junior season with 2,611 yards rushing and 40 touchdowns. He averaged 7.5 yards per carry. With one year left to play, Standard has rushed for xx yards in his career.
Standard is one pace to become the all-time leading rusher in the history of the St. Louis Metropolitan area. The current leader if former Wentzville Holt star Montee Ball, who is now a freshman at the University of Wisconsin.
