Earlier today, Former Riverview Gardens School District Superintendent Henry Williams was handed down a sentence of five years probation and ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution for allegations he spent district money without permission.
In November, Williams pleaded no contest to three counts of evading
Missouri income taxes.
Williams was accused of using more than $25,000 in district funds without
the district’s permission. Williams was also accused of underreporting his income for three of the five years that he served as superintendent. He also reportedly approved overpriced travel expenses for himself and other district officials; steered school business to his daughter, girlfriend and his girlfriend’s family; and used tax dollars to buy art and theater tickets.
Williams He was fired by the board in July of 2007 after five year’s as the district head.
