Alicia Burnett

The freshman sprinter made an immediate impact on the high school scene with a tremendous performance at the Lindenwood High School Open last weekend in St. Charles.

Burnett swept the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes with excellent times. She already holds the school record in all three events just a few weeks into her career. Burnett won the 100 in 11.71 seconds, the 200 in 24.29 seconds and the 400 in 57.09 seconds.

Before she entered the high school ranks, Burnett was a star performer on the summer track scene in national competition. She set a national record time in her age group in winning the 100 in 11.66 at the AAU Junior Olympics. She was also a national champion in the 200.
