Whereas Caretta Darden was born July 6, 1950 to the union of Lee and Delores Warren.

Whereas Caretta attended and received the sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation at St. Mathews Catholic School.

Whereas Caretta had an enduring bond with her step-father Colonel Hampton Mays (Nick) who preceded her in death.

Whereas Caretta went on to Providence High School and enhanced her education thru various training and enrichment opportunities.

Whereas Caretta was athletic and a musician in the truest form.

Whereas Caretta had lungs of steel and enjoyed playing the soprano horn as she traveled the United States and Canada in competitions with the Lancer’s Drum & Bugle Corp.

Whereas Caretta was mother to 5 children, Ramon L. Wright(preceded her in death), Rona Wright-Taylor, Ronda Wright-Broderick, Julius James III and Aisha James Grandmother to Kaira, Nicolas, Raiven, Ramon II, Layla, Lacy, Julianna, Kenya, Nasir, Amir and Kair. Sister to Val Wadlington, Alicia Harrold (Norman), Kayla Mays-Madkins and Kyle H. Mays (Erin)

Whereas prior to her illness progression; Caretta was an active Board Member of the Lancer’s Drum & Bugle Corp.

Whereas in her professional life Caretta gained numerous acknowledgements and certifications in her professional endeavors.

Whereas in her lifetime Caretta’s talents contributed to numerous small, minority businesses growth and sustainability.

Whereas Caretta was employed with Bank of America as Senior Officer Operations Analyst and had a gift of building instant rapport with her customers.

Whereas Caretta fought a great battle with breast cancer and was an advocate for breast cancer research.

Whereas Caretta’s zest for life was contagious and she was loved by many and will be missed greatly by her family and loved ones.
