The 6’6” junior center led the Indians to the Class 5 District 9 championship in suprising fashion.
Daniels averaged 18 points in Holt’s three victories as he dominated the action inside. He had 15 points, 14 rebounds, seven blocks and six assists in Holt’s 64-62 overtime victory over Columbia Hickman in the championship game.
In the semifinals, Daniels had 28 points, six rebounds and four blocks to lead the Indians to a 51-50 upset of No. 1 seed Columbia Rock Bridge. He started off the tournament with 11 points, nine rebounds and eight blocks in a 49-41 victory over district rival Timberland.
For the season, Daniels is averaging 17.9 points, 10.5 rebounds and four blocks a game.
Holt faced Jefferson City in the Class 5 sectionals on Wednesday night at Union.

The 5’11” sophomore forward led the Phoenix to the Class 4, District 5 tournament championship last weekend.
In the semifinals, she had 20 points, eight rebounds, four steals and five blocks in a 52-34 victory.
A starter on Career Academy’s Final Four team as a freshman, James has taken over as the leader of the team as a sophomore, averaging 14.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, three steals and two blocks a game.
Career Academy took on MICDS in the Class 4 sectionals on Wednesday night at Parkway West.
