Nearly ten years ago, Willie “P-Dub” Moore was on a different path in his life and his music.

The St. Lunatics had just exploded, and “Pretty Willie” – as he was known back then – was expected to follow suit with a radio hit that had the nation taking notice.

Unfortunately, “Pretty Willie” didn’t get the same shine as his St. Louis rap counterparts. He struggled to keep a name for himself in a market that had become saturated by Nelly and the Tics.

But what didn’t happen for “Pretty Willie” in the world is on its way to fruition through his reflection of the Word as P-Dub gears up for his major label release in a few short months.

Last Thursday (Jul. 1), EMI Gospel Distribution and recording artist Willie “P-Dub” Moore have entered into an exclusive licensing agreement for his Kingdom Music Label.

The first product to come from this agreement will be P-Dub’s CD, The Turning Point, slated for release on September 14, 2010.

“Mark that down right now,” P-Dub said about the release of The Turning Point.

“We’re going hard for the king.”

As one of the primary members of the Young Fly and Saved Movement – alongside D. Stone and Stone’s wife Elise Crossfield – P-Dub has a has been winning the souls of young people around the world.

YFS has already amassed a following of 25 million through the social networking medium and digital formats.

And through the record label Kingdom Music, he delivers the message of Christ with the backdrop of the hot tracks with the same appeal that he had young people vibing in the club to several years back.

Thanks to the EMI deal, the sky is the limit with regards to P-Dub’s possibility with respect to spreading the word and saving souls through his songs.

Under the agreement, EMI Gospel will handle world-wide distribution rights, marketing and promotions for recorded music products.

“EMI is excited to partner with P-Dub to further spread his urban/hip hop brand from the streets to the church and beyond,” Larry Blackwell, Vice President/General Manager of EMI Gospel, said.

Ken Pennell, President of EMI Gospel was eager to express his excitement about the new partnership as well.

“We love that P-Dub spreads the Gospel message in today’s language,” Pennell said.

The stall experienced by Pretty Willie in the secular music industry can now officially be considered a “divine delay” for P-Dub.

He’s excited about the possibilities and is already sketching out a blueprint for the promotional activities surrounding the Turning Point’s release.

“We’re going to have a big “free” CD release party in my hometown of St. Louis,” P-Dub told his international fan base through the YFS newsletter. “And we are going to have a huge in-store where you can meet and greet me and YFS and purchase The Turning Point.”

Naturally, the process for promoting his new release starts at home, where it all began for Pretty Willie.

But as P-Dub, his long-awaited success in the music industry comes with a new life, new message, new opportunities and a new purpose.

“I thank God for this opportunity with EMI to influence the world, change lives and make history in the process with Kingdom Music,” P-Dub said.
