John Thomas was one of nine children born in Brooksville, MS to the late William and Lillian Thomas. He departed this life Friday, August 6, 2010. John, affectionately known as “J.B.” accepted Christ at an early age and joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Brooksville under the Rev. Eddie Harris.
He graduated from Mobile County Training School in Mobile, AL and served in the US Army during World War II. After military service, John moved to St. Louis, MO, where he studied and became a licensed barber. John worked as a barber and maintained his own shop for over 25 years.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Zeola and two of his brothers, Albert and Grantford.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters and three brothers, Ora Lee, Manassie, Annie, William, Robert Earl and Marvin; two devoted sisters-in-law, Maxine and Jean Thomas; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
