Alice Willie Lee Fitzgerald Ryan passed on January 24, 2017. Affectionately known as “Unforgettable Alice” she graduated from Sumner High School in 1955. Alice went on to earn her Missouri State Cosmetology license, becoming a hair stylist until being employed with the St. Louis Public School System where she spent over 30 years until she retired in 1999. She also worked from time to time with the St. Louis Board of Elections as an election poll representative and a part-time caregiver at Akins West . Growing up during the civil rights movement, Alice was a member of the National Council of Negro Women, National Parent Associations, Parent-Teachers Associations and a host of other civic organization. She was also a member of the First Choice Social Club. Alice meet and married Melvin Ryan in St. Louis, Missouri. Two daughters Frances and Helen, four grandchildren Will Keyton IV, Donovan (deceased), Dionne, Tre’von and 4 great-grandchildren were the result of their union. Melvin her husband, her father Willie Vincent Fitzgerald, her mother Willie Ann Frances, 5 brothers and one grandson proceeded her in death. Beside her daughters and grandchildren, Alice leaves behind to cherish her memories Leroy (brother), Lola (sister), Michael (brother) and a host of loving niece, nephews, extended family and friends.
