I made sure to show my support to the cohort of promoters that officially kicked off the Sunday day party season with a set at House of Soul. Is it me, or in previous years, do Sunday day parties pop off after St. Patrick’s Day and continue through Thanksgiving? I had an errand to run and got there early – and was a bit nervous when it was slow to fill. However, I doubled back after I made my run and it was poppin’ my neighbor’s 4th of July fireworks display in the heart of Jennings – which put Fair St. Louis to shame and is still happening nightly as of July 10. Yes, you care about my lack of sleep. Back to the day party. All of the folks made their way through before it was said and done. So many of my favorites were on that patio that I would need a whole Partyline to properly name-drop. I was thrilled to see Mr. “Right Thurr” himself in the building. That’s right, St. Louis’ own Chingy was among the influencers and tastemakers who rolled through. The weather was perfect, and the party made the most of it.
