Duane Hawthorne is the new head football coach for Hazelwood West High School. Hawthorne, currently a health teacher at the school, has played defensive back and was part of the special teams for the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. He served as the head football coach for University City High School and was the St. Louis Metro Coach of the Year in 2009-10. He also has coached at McCluer South-Berkeley and Ladue Horton Watkins high schools.
