Walgreens Expressions Challenge

Now in its sixth year, The Walgreens Expressions Challenge program is underway for students in the St. Louis region (as well as Chicago) through November 30.

A peer-to-peer based health awareness initiative for high school teens (ages 14-18), The Challenge motivates participants to voice their opinion on critical life issues they face daily through creative writing, visual arts and media arts.

Topics have included (but aren’t limited to) violence prevention, bullying, self-esteem, abstinence, STD /STI prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, sexual responsibility awareness, and sexting.

Grand prize winners take home $2,000 for themselves, $500 for their school and $500 for their art teacher.

• Video

• Recorded Song/Rap

• Spoken Word

At the core of the Expressions Challenge is an incentive based contest for teens to showcase their creative perspective on healthy lifestyle choices. Through the Expressions Challenge, Walgreens has given away more than $200,000 to teens, teachers/program leaders, and their schools and youth organizations.
