This Saturday, South African singing ensemble Ladysmith Black Mambazo will bring their unique harmonies to Edwardsville’s Dunham Hall. Founded more than 30 years ago by Joseph Shabalala, the group obtained international fame after lending vocals to Paul Simon’s number one single “Graceland.” A group consisting of seven bass voices, an alto, a tenor, and Shabalala singing lead Mambazo has more than 30 albums to their credit since they began forming in 1974. They sing in the language of Zulu, but exhibit the true universal language of music and audiences walk away understanding feeling their power and genius.
