Bakari Institute’s “Tribute to Africa” edition of their family affair will feature African drum and dance performances by Soundz of Sankofa, the African American Ensemble Association, and the poets and drummers of NGOMA! In addition, there will be drum-making, hair-braiding, head-wrapping, and percussion-making demonstrations and workshops. As always, comedian Cuttin’ T (The Mouth from the South) will emcee the evening. Vendors will sell their wares at an African Marketplace.
