Ragsdale was one of the individual standouts at the recent Suburban North Conference championships
at Hazelwood West.
The senior turned in her best performance of the season in winning the 100-meter high hurdles and
300-meter low hurdles was 14.6 seconds. In the process, Ragsdale defeated defending state champion
Whitney Thomas of Hazelwood Central. Ragesdale also won the 300-meter low hurdles in 46.1.
Ragsdale is back on her game after being curtailed by injuries and illness last year a a junior.
She was one of the top hurdlers in the state as a sophomore, finishing fourth in the 100-meter
hurdles at the 2003 state championships behind three seniors. Ragsdale set the tone for an
excellent senior year by winning the 100-meter hurdles at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational on
April 2 and both events at the Alton Invitational last month.
Ragsdale, who is also a top student in the classroom wih a 3.8 grade point average, will attend
Tennessee State University in the fall.
