As we get geared up for one of the biggest fight cards in the Lou in decades, I have to pay my respects to two of the best local boxers I’ve known. And may they rest in peace. They are Dionzie “Dinky” Levi and Marvin Bolden. They both fought at Tandy back in the day and trained under Mr. Westbrook, winning a fair share of Gold Gloves championships. Dinky was a quick combination puncher who could swiftly bob and weave his way out of trouble. Marvin was what we called a knockout artist. He could take a punch, but when he gave one, you would be sorry.
