Dello Thedford and the Gospel Symphonic Choir will be the last leg of the UMSL’s eventful and distinguished 2005 Black History Month celebration. UMSL can boast the likes of Susan Taylor of Essence, Kevin Powell, Lerone Bennett of Ebony and businessman David Steward as part of their 2005 schedule of participants. Dello Thedford and the Gospel Symphonic Choir are renowned in their own right as a favorite on the local gospel music scene and the ensemble includes some of the who’s who of St. Louis Gospel such as Karen Hylton and Leslie Johnson. Since forming in 1996, Dello Thedford and the Gospel Symphonic Choir have recorded two albums and recently their single “Rejoice” appeared on KATZ Gospel 1600 year-end chart as #40 of the top fifty songs of 2004.
