As the heating season approaches, Laclede Gas Company urges customers to ensure that their heating system is clean and in good working order.

Cleaned and adjusted pilots and burners and frequent changing of filters pay off in both safety and on utility bills. Properly working gas appliances is the first defense against carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.

Also, it’s important that customers clear chimneys, vents and flues. Leaves, birds’ nests, fallen bricks or mortar can result in an inefficient heating system, as well as possible exposure to carbon monoxide.

For more information, contact Laclede Gas at (314) 621-6960 or a local qualified HVAC contractor.
