Penn State coach Joe Paterno looked out the field this season and made a shocking discovery, apparently – it’s a lot of black dudes out there! After competing in the Big Ten for more than a decade he came up with these thoughts in the wake of Air Force coach Fisher DeBerry’s comments about black athletes.
“You got to be careful how you say things sometimes, DeBerry got in trouble,” Paterno said late last week. “The black athlete has made a big difference. They’ve changed the whole tempo of the game.”
You would have thought black football players just broke the color barrier in the last few years. Maybe Paterno, who is again competing for the Big Ten title, has been in a dream world for awhile and decided to check back into reality this season.
