Have you ever had a precious and needed item given to you? You then turn around to say thanks, and there is no one there?

Well, that is sort of the way we feel. Our family was affected by the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. There was immediate help from friends, neighbors and churches with which we are affiliated. We could and did express our appreciation to those folks because we could see them.

But then there are those of you who helped us, and we have no idea who you are. We want to say thanks to you as well as publicly say thanks to those whom we know.

One of my sisters had so much given to her that she went to the Red Cross to help others from her gifts. Boy! You St. Louis folks are something else! May God bless and keep you.

Some of our family members have a house to repair, while others will need to rebuild. We are grateful that no one was injured. Stuff can be replaced.

Thank you very much! We and our family will always remember your kindness and generosity.

The Rev. Joshua D. Jackson and Andrew A. Jackson
