More than 2,000 students attend

America’s Center was the scene of the National Scholarship Service College Fair which was co-sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority/Gamma Omega.

More than 2,000 pupils, along with their counselors and parents, attended the event and received materials, pertinent information and guidance necessary for the college search.

Approximately 65 colleges, universities and technical schools participated in this annual event, which was held on Thursday, September 15.

High-school pupils from Omaha, Nebraska; Columbia, Missouri; metropolitan St. Louis; and Belleville, Alton, and Cahokia, Illinois were in attendance.

The National Scholarship Service is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Each year, this group visits several cities throughout the United States. They share materials on admissions, financial aid and college life. Each participant is required to complete a registration form.

Members of AKA/Gamma Omega Chapter served as guides and helpers during the event.
