With admiration and understanding, I read Sheilda Robinson’s letter and her honest reaction to the budget cuts perpetrated by Governor Matt Blunt.
How many people witnessed and then forgot when, in the early 1990s, all of the Republican governors across our country cut funding to their state colleges and universities? And what did they do afterward, with the propagandistic encouragement of the national Republican Party? They instigated school vouchers to segregate our society from the rich and then clandestinely promoted religious institutions to replace public education so they could infiltrate our political system with their own fifth column of voters. Now, they are destroying the Social Security system and are ending aid to the underprivileged. Matt Blunt is merely doing as his sponsoring masters are ordering him to do.
