June 10, 1924 – June 13, 2005

Marion Elizabeth Hodgins was born on June 10, 1924 to the late Odell Edward and Grace Oil Clark, as one of twelve children. She began her early education in the St. Louis Public School system and graduated from Sumner High School in 1943. Marion, affectionately known as Honey, went on to further her education at Harris-Stowe Teachers College which she attended for two years. Later, she took classes at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

In St. Louis, Marion met the late David Hodgins, an accomplished musician and teacher, whom she later joined in marriage. Through their union, they were blessed with three daughters.

Beginning her professional career at the Armory, Marion continued on to become a data processor for the Department of Defense while also employed by Smart Handbags. In 1987, she retired from her position as a computer operator.

Throughout her joyous life, Marion acquired various hobbies. She is the founder and was a member of a social club. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, gardening, reading, watching her soaps and completing cross-word puzzles. She was an accomplished seamstress and had a beautiful singing voice. She always looked forward to her weekly bingo matches with her family.

Marion was a practicing Catholic and a proud member of St. Norbert’s Catholic Church in Florissant. She kept her family in her prayers and said her rosary daily. Marion left this earth on the evening of June 13, 2005 at the age of 81 as the last surviving child of the Clarks. Her legacy will continue to live on through her three daughters Patricia Ann Hodgins, Renee Belcher, and Gina Richardson, her three grandsons and one granddaughter, her three great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters, and a host of relatives and dear friends.
