At 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri will sponsor a health and wellness event at Friendly Temple Baptist Church, 5515 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr., as part of its second annual “Health and Wellness Church Tour.”
This year’s programs will feature speakers, screenings, premiums, entertainment for adult and children, lunch and refreshments.
In 2004, more than 4,500 people attended eight church wellness events. About 400 were screened for blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes. Of this number, 75 discovered a previously unknown health condition.
