Monsanto Family YMCA hosted its 5th annual Tuxedo & Tennis Gala to raise $100,000 to subsidize membership for kids and/or families to participate in YMCA programs. Michael and Jeanne Roberts donated $10,000 to support youth memberships.

The event was held Saturday, November 19 at the Millennium Hotel-Grand Ball Room. Creg E. Williams, superintendent of SLPS, gave the keynote address.

The Tuxedo & Tennis Gala began in November 2000 and was held in the Monsanto Family YMCA gymnasium. Because dress shoes could not be worn on the gym floor, it was decided that tennis shoes should be worn at the event with formal attire. This year 800 people attended and more than $70,000 was raised.
