Standout girls basketball player Nevaeh Lucious of Incarnate Word Academy has given a commitment to Missouri State University.
A 6’3” senior forward, Lucious is one of the top prospects in the state of Missouri. She is currently rated No. 4 in the Class of 2026 by the basketball website Prep Girls Hoops Missouri. Lucious made her official announcement on her social media account on Monday night.
Lucious moved to St. Louis last year after playing her first two seasons at Notre Dame High in Cape Girardeau. She was a force in the paint at both ends of the floor for the Red Knights, who won another Class 6 state championship last season.
As a junior, Lucious averaged 11 points and 5.8 rebounds a game while shooting 65 percent from the field and blocking a team-high 38 shots.
Lucious becomes the fourth senior basketball player at Incarnate Word to commit to a Division I school. All four players will be playing college basketball in the state of Missouri next year. Peyton Olufson is headed to Saint Louis U., Savannah Stricker committed to Lindenwood while Addi Owen has committed to SEMO.
