Rapper Boosie says he was scammed by a legal firm that claimed it could secure him a presidential pardon — and he detailed the ordeal in a sit-down with 60 Minutes. In the interview, Boosie told correspondent Lesley Stahl that the Pardons and Clemency Group convinced him he could buy a Donald Trump pardon if he paid upfront.
“This is what I was led to believe: ‘If you come up with this money, you will get a pardon,’” Boosie said. When Stahl asked how much he paid, he responded, “$600K.”
Stahl read text messages allegedly sent by the firm, including one claiming Trump executive assistant Natalie Harp would personally deliver Boosie’s application to the president. “I just thought, ‘This is the way it is done,’” Boosie said. “I’m paying these guys, and they’re gonna make it happen.”
“It didn’t happen,” Stahl replied.
Boosie’s contract stated he would receive a refund if no pardon was granted. The firm now claims the contract is invalid — and denies sending the texts.
