Spoke at an emergency meeting with the clergy coalition at Christ The King United Church of Christ and called for an immediate demilitarization of the police response to the protests that stem from the killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown Saturday at the hands of Ferguson police.
She was greeted with a standing ovation from clergy and citizens.
Organizers immediately asked her to repeat herself and she said,
“Demilitarize the response to the protests.”
Outside the church, she said to media that she’s also here to be with protesters and support them. She also said that President Obama is making an announcement at 11:15 a.m. CST
