During Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), company executives announced that instead of creating new devices, Apple developers will focus on new software for Mac computers, iPhones and iPads, which will become available (for free) this autumn.  Each operating system comes equipped with several new alterations including design, updates and more accessible tools.  Apple has even introduced a service known as “Handoff” which allows users to begin actions on one device and pass it to another.

Specifically focusing on the future Mac OS X software, referred to as Yosemite, Apple has made modifications in its design which are inspired by iOS software used on iPhones and iPads. This new design features a flat screen, translucent panels and a lack of gradients and textures. Yosemite also includes a customizable notification center, spotlight refresh and an updated Safari App.  Each new addition to the Mac software is in order to improve the already convenient Mac computer. This includes a new built-in photo mail editor known as Markup which gives photo viewers the opportunity to immediately edit photos directly from their mailbox.

Though the software design of Apple’s iOS 7 updates for iPhones and iPads is remaining somewhat similar, the iOS 8 update will come with an updated Safari browser. The iOS 8 update will also include new features in messaging, photo and email apps, which have had notable issues in iOS 7.

Each change is said to be visually and functionally improved in contrast to later software updates. That’s no surprise coming from the company that just made a $3 billion dollar purchase on the rights of Beats by Dre.
