Firefighters Institute For Racial Equality (F.I.R.E.) will continue its legacy of honoring one of its fallen heroes with a bowling event on Sunday and a candlelight vigil on Tuesday.
The 5th Annual Memorial Bowling Tribute for F.I.R.E. member and Firefighter Leonard Riggins Sr. take place on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Crest Bowl 650 New North Florissant St. Louis MO 63031 from 7pm to 10pm.
F.I.R.E. will also hold a candlelight vigil this upcoming Tuesday (Nov. 5) at Emmaus Church, 3524 Goodfellow. A dove release will take place at 4:45 with the vigil following at 5:15 p.m.
A firefighter for the city of St. Louis – and active leader within the F.I.R.E. organization – Riggins stopped to help what he thought was a car accident victim back in 2008. The individual was actually a carjacker who senselessly gunned him down.
